Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is continuing its Accessible Parking Installation program to make the downtown core more accessible for all users.

2026 improvements began in front of Service BC and the Playschool, and next week work will continue along 50 Avenue North and South in front of CMP, the Fort Hotel and the Morris Building.

These upgrades began on August 17 and will take approximately one week; access to businesses will be maintained, although temporary traffic and parking disruptions will occur in and around work zones, so please follow traffic and construction signage while travelling through these areas.

Work in front of Service BC and the Playschool was completed by AGE Concrete and Construction, and work at the remaining locations is being completed by BKT Wall Contracting.

This project helps create a downtown core that is easier and safer for all people and abilities and is funded in part by the Government of Canada’s Enabling Accssibility Fund.
