Health Services

An important health hub for the north, Fort Nelson is the major service centre for hundreds of kilometres in any direction. Operated by the Northern Health Authority, the Fort Nelson General Hospital has acute and multi-level residential care beds and provides lab, diagnostic imaging, mental health and addictions services as well as basic obstetrics and minor surgeries. The Northern Health Authority also operates the Fort Nelson Public Health Unit.
