The Fort Nelson Elks' Lodge Fund for Children's Medical Assistance provides funds to purchase pediatric medical equipment, supplies, services or medical travel for children birth to 19 years of age, who have an identified medical or developmental concern. Funds are intended for low income families in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality who are not able to afford the financial cost of such equipment or services themselves. To apply, or for more information, contact the Northern Rockies Child Development Association for more information at (250) 774-2596.

The Paige Family Foundation supports Fort Nelson, Logan Lake, and Kamloops residents facing unexpected challenges. Open year-round, it offers financial help based on need. Canadian citizens can apply or be nominated.

The Travel Assistance Program (TAP) helps alleviate some of the transportation costs for eligible BC residents who must travel for non-emergency specialist services not available in their home community. TAP is coordinated by the Ministry of Health and the transportation partners who agree to waive or discount their regular fees.

Hope Air is a national charity that provides free air travel, hotel accommodation, ground transportation and meal subsidies, for patients and escorts in financial need, travelling to access medical care. Shriners Hospitals for Children provides services for children in BC and Yukon requiring specialized procedures including transportation, accommodation, and associated medical treatment. Physician's referrals are not necessary as cases are reviewed by Shriners Hospitals' doctors to determine the best course of treatment. Appointments are prioritized based on medical need. The T8TA provides medical transportation benefits to support all registered Off-Reserve First Nations clients living in the Northeast region to access health services not available in their community of residence, including within the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. First Nations clients living On-Reserve can access the same benefits through their band office.
