Do you enjoy learning new skills, being involved in your community, working with the public and making a few extra dollars? 

Expressions of interest are now being accepted for Election Officials to assist with the upcoming 2026 General Local Election being held on October, 2026.

Election Officials work at the polling places on election days and are a critical part of making the election process accurate and fair. There are only a few qualifications, experience is not necessary, and training will be provided:

  • Have a Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in B.C;
  • Not be nor will not become a candidate, candidate representative or financial agent, be involved in a campaign for a candidate, nor have a relationship with a candidate that would impair your ability to faithfully and impartially exercise the powers and perform the duties of the position you are appointed to on the election team;
  • Attend a mandatory scheduled (and paid) training class prior to the election;
  • Be responsible for their own transportation to and from their voting place.

Election Officials are needed for:

  • Voter Registration and Voting Stations the Northern Rockies Community Hall on General Voting day, October , 2026
  • Voter Registration and the Advance Voting Stations on October 2026 at the Northern Rockies Community Hall.

Note: If selected to work during the 2022 General Local Election, your preference selected for email/mail will be used for all correspondence and mailing address will be used for payment processing.
I am 18 years of age or older (Individuals under the age of 18 may work during the local election; however are only eligible for certain roles)
I understand that working hours are from 7:00 am to approximately 9:00 pm and that I may be required to work outside of these hours and I can commit to the time required.
I am not a candidate, and I will not become a candidate, a candidate representative or a financial agent, nor will I be campaigning for candidates if contracted as an election official.
