A Public Hearing will be held at the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality Municipal Office located at 5319 - 50th Avenue South, Fort Nelson, BC at 6:00 pm on Monday August 11, 2025 for the purpose of providing the public with an opportunity to address Regional Council respecting matters contained in the proposed “Official Community Plan Amendment (Highway Commercial to Urban Residential) Bylaw No. 236, 2025” and proposed “Zoning Amendment (4603 50 Ave South – C-2, C-3 to RMH) Bylaw No. 237, 2025”.

An opportunity to attend or address Council in the Public Hearing will also be available virtually. For information on how to participate virtually, please contact admin@northernrockies.ca.

The purposes of the Official Community Plan Amendment Bylaw and Zoning Amendment Bylaw are specific to parcels located at 4603 50th Ave S, Fort Nelson (Midnight Sun Manufactured Home Park). An amendment to the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality Official Community Plan Bylaw No. 64, 2011 proposes to change the land use designation from Highway Commercial to Urban Residential while the amendment to the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality Zoning Bylaw No. 119, 2016 proposes changing zoning from Highway Commercial (C-2) and Service Commercial (C-3) to Residential Manufactured Home Park (RMH). A site-specific zoning amendment is also requested, proposing an increase of permitted density from 17 units/ha to 24 units/ha. 

Copies of the proposed bylaw and related documents can be inspected at the NRRM Municipal Office, Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm from July 21, 2025 to August 11, 2025 or through the links above.

Any persons who believe their interest in property may be affected by the proposed bylaw shall be afforded the opportunity to be heard in person, by a representative or by written submission, on the matters contained within the proposed bylaws at the Public Hearing.
