Municipal and Provincial elections elect officials for offices in two different types of government in Canada. Each of the two election administrations is governed by separate pieces of legislation. The following is a general summary of which offices are elected at each level of government:
Local Government/Municipal Election:
There is no political party association at this level of government. As an eligible elector of the municipality, you elect:
Northern Rockies Regional Municipal Council
One (1) Mayor
Six (6) Regional Councillors
School District No. 81 Board
Five (5) School Board Trustees

| September 11 at 4:00 pm | Nomination period closes |
| September 15 at 4:00 pm | Deadline to challenge nominations and elector organizations endorsements |
| September 17 | Property ownership cut-off date for non-resident property electors (if you are not a resident, you may be eligible to vote if you have owned property in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality since this date) |

| October 7, 8 am to 8 pm | Advance voting opportunity. Community Hall, Recreation Centre, 5500 Alaska Hwy. If stairs or crowds are difficult for you, please vote on this Day. |
| October 17, 8 am to 8 pm | General Voting Day. Fitness Room (upstairs), Recreation Centre, 5500 Alaska Hwy. Mobility aids and elevator available. |
| October 17 at 8:00 pm | Deadline to return mail ballots to the Chief Election Officer |
