Election Employment Opportunities
We are looking to hire people for a variety of roles as Election Officials. Officials will be required to work election day on October 17, 2026 and there will be optional opportunities to work during advance voting on October 7, 2026.
Who can apply
To work as an Election Official, you must:
- Have a Social Insurance Number
- Be legally entitled to work in BC
- Attend mandatory training sessions
- Work on election day
- Cannot be a candidate, candidate representative or financial agent, nor will I be campaigning for candidates in the upcoming General Local Election.
Training
- You will need to attend mandatory training sessions for your assigned role.
- Training will occur in September 2026.
Compensation
The Election Official Remuneration Policy describes the rate of pay and general expectations of the various roles. You may be paid by direct deposit, or by cheque depending on your preference.
