Free Landfill Week: May 16 - 24, 2026
All household waste disposal is free of charge* for residents of the NRRM.
*Industrial and commercial users are subject to usual tipping fees
Regular landfill hours are in effect:

| Thursday - Sunday | 11:00am to 5:00pm |
Curbside Pick-Up: May 19 – 22
Contact Public Works to arrange for your bulky items to be picked up from the curb!!
*This service is intended for residents that are unable to take these items themselves and some restrictions may apply.
*All fridges and freezers must be empty and all fluids must be removed.
Ineligible items: vehicle hulks, large demolition projects, (sheds or decks) or garbage bags, and unacceptable waste.
Kick it to the Curb: May 16 – 18
To kick start Fort Nelson's annual Spring Fling the NRRM is encouraging people to place any items that are unwanted but still in good condition on the curb outside their house marked "FREE."
All of these items will be for the taking, so shop around the town! Let's keep precious materials from entering the landfill. Remember, one person's trash is another person's treasure!
To have unclaimed items picked up, call Public Works.
Community Clean-Up
Are you interested in beautifying our community? You can help pick up garbage where you live or work or anywhere that needs it. Call us - we will supply garbage bags and gloves.
Non-Profit Organizations
You can earn $5 for every bag you pick-up!
