The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has been informed by National Defence / the Canadian Armed Forces that six CH-146 Griffon helicopters from 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron will be transiting from Edmonton, Alberta to Fort Wainwright, Alaska between January 26 and 28, 2026, in support of Exercise STRIKING BAT.
During this period, residents may notice increased helicopter activity, including low-level or repeated flights. This activity is part of a planned military exercise and is not a cause for concern.
We appreciate the public’s understanding as these operations take place.
