Big News: We’re Getting a New Website!

We’re excited to announce that our new website is launching soon! Along with a fresh look, the new site brings a host of improvements designed to make it easier for residents to access important information quickly and efficiently.

What’s New and Improved:

Updated Notifications and Subscriptions

Public and Legal Notices: Emergency alerts, public notices, and advisories will now be distributed through Public and Legal Notices to ensure critical information reaches everyone—not just subscribers of specific updates.

Voyent Emergency Alerts: Voyent remains our primary emergency alert tool. Make sure the app is installed, updated, and your locations are added so you don’t miss critical notifications.

Engagement Opportunities: Events and activities will now be primarily featured on our calendar. While we will continue to share highlights on social media, detailed information and links will live directly on the calendar.

Municipal Service Updates (NEW combined category): Stay informed about operational notices, including:

  • Road closures
  • Service interruptions or closures
  • Water and sewer updates
  • Garbage updates
  • Other municipal service-related information

Accessibility Enhancements

The new site has been carefully designed to improve accessibility for all residents:

  • Better formatting for screen readers
  • Clearer navigation and structured content
  • Improved contrast and readability for easier use

Modern Platform Upgrade

We are moving from iCreate to a Drupal platform, which provides a more robust, secure, and flexible content management system. This upgrade allows for better integration of features, faster performance, and easier maintenance—helping us serve you more effectively.

Fresh Look, Same Community Focus

The site has a slightly updated design that’s cleaner and easier to navigate—but don’t worry, it’s all in the name of accessibility and user experience.

Review Your Subscription Preferences

Once the new website is live, we encourage all residents to review their subscription preferences. Whether you want more or fewer notifications, you’ll be able to adjust your subscriptions directly on the new site at any time.

If you experience any issues or need assistance, please contact us at communications@northernrockies.ca.

Thank you for staying informed and engaged with your community!
