The capital costs of the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) water and sewer utility systems are supported in part by a parcel tax (frontage) levy imposed pursuant to Bylaw No. 555 (Water) and Bylaw No. 728 (Sewer). As per section 208 of the Community Charter, notice is hereby given that Parcel Tax (Frontage) Rolls are now available for inspection on the NRRM website, by email or at the NRRM offices located at 5319 50 Avenue South, Fort Nelson BC, from March 18, 2022 to April 11, 2022.
Please refer to a previous years’ tax notice or enter your civic (street address) in the BC Assessment website at bcassessment.ca to find your roll number, and then refer to the Parcel Tax (Frontage) Report to review and confirm your frontage in linear feet or your parcel tax amount.
A person who owns a parcel included on the Parcel Tax (Frontage) Rolls may request in writing, an amendment based on one or more of the following:
a) there is an error or omission respecting a name or address on a parcel tax (frontage) roll;
b) there is an error or omission respecting the inclusion of a parcel;
c) there is an error or omission respecting the taxable area or the taxable frontage of a parcel; or
d) an exemption has been improperly allowed or disallowed.
In order to be considered, a request by a property owner for an amendment must be submitted in writing on or before 4:00 p.m. on April 8, 2022. Requests for amendments will then be considered by the Parcel Tax Roll Review Panel on Monday, April 11, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the Bear Pit at the Municipal Office.
