Corporate Administrative Assistant (Full-time Permanent)

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services or their designate, this employee is responsible for arranging the purchase of assigned commodities and services for the organization. Duties include performing manual and clerical tasks related to receiving, stocking, minor maintenance, and repair of supplies, materials, records, and equipment (both general and specialized). The employee also manages corporate travel and social event arrangements, processes tenders, and tracks budgets. 

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Completion of Grade 12, with post-secondary education in Purchasing, Local Government Management, or Office Administration. One year of office experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. High proficiency with computers and applications, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Able to work independently by following policies and procedures with minimum supervision while maintaining a high quality of work.
  • Skilled at interacting courteously and effectively with the public, providing accurate information and assistance regarding municipal services.
  • Capable of producing written documents that are clearly organized with proper sentence structure, punctuation, and grammar; committed to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information.
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills to deliver excellent customer service in a professional, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure while managing problems, tasks, and changing priorities simultaneously or unexpectedly.
  • Knowledgeable about the principles and practices of public purchasing.
Status/Hours/Shifts

Full-time; Permanent; 35 hours per week; day shift (Monday to Friday).

Rate

Clerk: $33.67 to $37.57 per hour as per the collective agreement. A 90% probationary rate may apply depending on the applicant’s current status.
