Lifeguard Instructor (Part-time Term)
The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is looking for an experienced Lifeguard Instructor to join our dedicated Aquatics Team. Key responsibilities include: monitoring swimmers closely to ensure their safety, enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents, assist with regular programs and special events, and teach various swimming lessons and classes.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Completion of Grade 12 education, and current certifications in: National Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid CPR-C/AED and Airway Management & Oxygen Administration.
- Minimum age 16 years old. Preference will be given to candidates aged 19 or older due to operational requirements.
- Exceptional communication skills to deliver excellent customer service professionally, efficiently, and promptly.
- Ability to interact with the public frequently using tact and diplomacy.
- This is a position of trust within the Municipality; therefore, the successful candidate must pass a Police Information Check including a Vulnerable Sector check.
Status/Hours/Shifts
Part-time; 6 to 7 month Term; 32 hours per week; shift work including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Rate
Lifeguard/Instructor: $33.23 – $36.36 per hour (as per the collective agreement). A 90% probationary rate may apply depending on the applicant’s current status. This is a 2024 rate and is subject to change.
