The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is considering extending the Fire Protection Services Area to include the following properties on the southwestern portion of McConachie Creek Road where it connects with Pioneer Way. This area has been identified in red on the map below.
The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality proposes to cover costs of this service by means of a Fire Service levy. The annual costs are determined by establishing the tax rate annually and will be charged on land and improvements for Fire Protection Services in the service area. The residential levy as set for 2022 is $76.16/$100,000 of assessment as per the following table:

Regional Council may proceed with the service area expansion unless a petition against the expansion (in accordance with Section 213 of the Community Charter) is presented by end of day July 6, 2022.
In order for a petition to succeed in blocking the expansion, the NRRM must receive valid petitions from owners of at least 50% of the properties impacted (representing at least 50% of the assessed value).
If you have any questions about this proposed service area extension, or want more information on submitting a petition against the expansion, please email Administration.
