On Wednesday, August 31st, Mayor & Council corresponded with MP Bob Zimmer with regard to the continuity of mail service following the Sikanni River Bridge accident that occurred on August 25, 2022. Since then, MP Zimmer has relayed communications from Canada Post acknowledging that mail services are essential, and indicating that their transportation team anticipates normal service being restored to the region by early next week. This is a result of alternative routing and scheduling of mail/parcel transportation. Despite the efforts being made for restoration of service, future delays in service are still possible.
