Did you know?
The Fort Nelson Snowmobile Club is interested in building an off-road vehicle trail on a portion of municipal land located in the south industrial area of town.
The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is working closely with the Snowmobile Club to help the user group expand its trail network and offer more to off-road vehicle enthusiasts!
The proposed trail is outlined in blue and extends off 55th Street continuing east to the Alaska Highway. The proposed trail is located on municipal land that had been designated for the Phase II Community Trail.
Phase I of the Community Trail extends from Lagoon Road and connects along the northern, residentially-developed area of the community with Simpson Trail. The Phase II Community Trail refers to an area of land that was proposed for a community walking trail following construction of the Phase I Community Trail.
The proposed trail would allow the Snowmobile Club to establish a trail around the entire town perimeter, and still leave space for a walking trail to be built at a future date.
