The Regional Health Recruitment Liaison plays a critical role in the recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals to the Northern Rockies. As a term position, reporting to the Corporate Manager, the Liaison works closely with local, regional and provincial health care employers to design, resource and launch recruitment campaigns, coordinating and tracking campaigns to improve effectiveness and impact, and liaising with prospective candidates to promote living in the Northern Rockies. The Liaison actively engages with potential applicants at regional and provincial forums, refers to health employers, tracks applicant progress, and acts as a community resource to help new health care providers settle in the community. Given the nature of the position, work can mostly be performed remotely with occasional in-person meetings. Residency in the community of Fort Nelson is essential to provide local support. The role provides day-to-day management of the Regional Recruitment, Retention and Training Incentives program, and works closely with community partners including the Community Health Plan Steering Committee, Fort Nelson Division of Family Practice, Fort Nelson First Nation and Prophet River First Nation to support health provider recruitment and advocating for the Northern Rockies to be a region of choice for health care providers and their families.
- A university degree in a related field (e.g., marketing, communications, public administration, health administration) and/or an equivalent combination of education and at least five years’ experience.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment and retention including needs assessment, supply planning, developing recruitment campaigns, supporting virtual and on-site visits and understanding the needs of health care providers and their families relocating to a new community.
- The candidate will recognize the importance of developing and sustaining high-accountability relationships with public and private sector health care employers at the community, regional, and, as needed, provincial level.
- This position has frequent contact with health care providers, health employers, First Nations, media and community partners requiring exceptional communication skills. Considerable tact and diplomacy.
Status/Hours/Shifts
12-month Term (0.5 FTE). Monday to Friday, with some expectation of travel with periodic evening and weekend work.
Rate
$46.50 per hour based on 17.5 hours/week, plus pay in lieu of benefits, statutory holidays and vacation. An allowance for working outside of the Municipal Office will be provided to cover communication costs, and a laptop will be provided.
