The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to complement our Public Works team. Reporting to the Director of Public Works, the Public Works Administration Manager is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration and planning of the Public Works and Airport Departments and works cooperatively with, advises and coordinates information to and from the Director of Public Works, other departmental managers, the Mayor and Regional Council, and other departments and stakeholders on activities associated with operations, service levels, infrastructure, special projects, and capital projects and planning.

This role is strongly focused on senior administrative duties and the successful candidate should possess post-secondary education in local government, engineering, business administration or a related field OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience and knowledge of asset management, infrastructure/construction project management and contract administration, including RFPs, RFQs, and tender procedures and processes would be an asset.

Additional qualifications include: excellent oral and written communications skills including report writing; thorough knowledge of statutes, laws, regulations, and precedents respecting Local Governments, occupational health and safety, construction, water, waste water; solid waste and transportation; contract administration, project management, and asset management; a high attention to detail; political sensitivity with the ability to work under pressure; excellent computer skills with advanced Excel and Word; excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to coordinate broad-based working groups; and the aptitude to deal with people in a professional and sensitive manner. Employment is dependent on a successful Police Information Check.
