Part-time Term - Maternity Leave Replacement

Reporting to either the Director of Corporate Services, the Director of Finance or the Director of Human Resources or designates, this employee is responsible for providing a variety of relief and overflow assistance to the Finance and Corporate Services Departments and administrative support to the CAO and Deputy CAO. The regularly scheduled work week will be split between the Finance, Corporate Services, and Administration Departments with regular tasks assigned. Work assignments may vary in times of overload or vacation relief and may be concentrated more heavily in one department.
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Completion of Grade 12 education, Post-secondary training, or progression in an accounting program such as Certified General Accountant’s training program, Diamond User Software, and Microsoft Office training, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and knowledge
- Ability to work independently following department policies and procedures with minimum supervision while maintaining high-quality work.
- Ability to prepare, review and utilize Microsoft Excel for complex spreadsheets.
- Ability to produce written documents with clearly organized thought, proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar; and to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
- Must possess exceptional communication skills to provide excellent customer service in a professional, efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to work under pressure handling problems, tasks, and changing priorities that come up simultaneously and/or unexpectedly.
- This position is considered a position of trust within the Municipality and the successful applicant must successfully pass a Police Information Check.
Status/Hours/Shifts
Part-time; 12-month Term (Maternity Leave Replacement); 25-35 hours per week; day shift (Monday to Friday).
Rate
The applicable pay rate will depend on the tasks and Department assigned but will be either that of an Accounting Clerk or a Clerk. Accounting Clerk: $32.78 - $36.79 or Clerk $32.06 - $35.78 (Please note these rates include an increase based on the 2022-2024 Collective Agreement COLA clause). A 90% probationary rate may be applicable depending on the applicant’s current status.
