2025 Preliminary NRRM Budget

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality (NRRM) is seeking community feedback on the 2025 budget. Your input will help shape how tax dollars are allocated to maintain essential services while addressing economic challenges.

 Understanding the 2025 NRRM Budget

 Key Budget Facts for 2025

  • 2% increase of organization’s cost over 2024 ($529,000) for municipal services, focused on maintaining service levels.
  • An increase to Infrastructure Development Contribution Agreement (IDCA) funding to $6.69M annually for the next five years.
  • Allowance for Uncollectible Taxes: There is a $2.5M allowance in the budget based on estimated risk of being unable to collect unpaid industrial property taxes for values on Crown leases.
  • Wildfire Risk Mitigation: $500,000 project added through draft budget deliberations to reduce the risk of wildfire impacts to the community.
  • Grants to Groups: Faced with requests from community organizations amounting to $964,000 for granted funds (13% increase over 2024), the total budget is proposed to hold at 2024 levels, at $904,000.
