Do you enjoy learning new skills, being involved in your community, working with the public and making a few extra dollars? Applications are now being accepted for Election Officials to assist with the upcoming 2022 General Local Election being held on October 15, 2022.
Election Officials work at the polling places on election days and are a critical part of making the election process accurate and fair. There are only a few qualifications and experience is not necessary. Election Officials must:
- Have a Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work in B.C;
- Not be nor will not become a candidate, candidate representative or financial agent, be involved in a campaign for a candidate, nor have a relationship with a candidate that would impair your ability to faithfully and impartially exercise the powers and perform the duties of the position you are appointed to on the election team;
- Attend a mandatory scheduled (and paid) training class prior to the election;
- Be responsible for their own transportation to and from their voting place;
Election Officials are needed for:
- Voter Registration and Voting Stations at the Northern Rockies Community Hall on General Voting Day, October 15, 2022;
- Voter Registration and the Advance Voting Stations on October 5th and 12th, 2022 at the Northern Rockies Community Hall, and;
- A Special Voting Station at the Toad River Community Hall on October 7th, 2022.
