All In Swim

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is committed to a high quality of life for residents and is striving to provide a safe, secure and welcoming community which is reflective of the diverse identity of the region. Part of this work includes planning for and implementing changes to make NRRM facilities and parks more accessible.

In 2020, with the assistance of Northern Development Initiative Trust, the Northern Rockies Regional Recreation Centre was able to install several upgrades in the aquatic centre making the facility more accessible to people with mobility challenges.  These upgrades include  automatic doors, wall-mounted lifts in a changing stall and bathroom and the purchase of a low-profile wheelchair designed to maneuver the deck surfaces and change room.

As the Northern Rockies continues working towards becoming more welcoming, we are aware that being accessible and inclusive means responding to the unique and changing needs of our diverse community. We are eager to hear from you about experiences and obstacles you’ve faced that would assist us in our quest!  Please fill out the anonymous survey to tell us what inclusion and accessibility means, and looks like, to you.
