Public Notice: Muskwa River Vehicle Access Restriction

FORT NELSON – Vehicle access to the Muskwa River via the Muskwa River Bridge access point and to the Fort Nelson River beside the P3 Bridge on the Sierra-Yoyo-Desan (SYD) Road has been restricted since April 23, 2020. The closure is in effect to ensure public safety, for several reasons:

Free Public Wi-Fi Access

If you do not have internet access in your home but need to check in with family and friends or apply for COVID-19 support programs, here are a few places you can try:

Public Wi-Fi is now available outside the Municipal Office and the Recreation Centre to assist residents without internet service. The current password is posted on the window at each location.

The signal strength is currently limited to the parking lot at the office and the sidewalk in front of the main Rec Centre...

NRRM ALERT: In the interest of public safety, Emergency Services has advised the temporary closure of access to the Muskwa River via the Muskwa River boat launches off Airport Road/Sierra Yoyo Desan (SYD) and under the Muskwa River Bridge. The Muskwa River is currently experiencing hazardously rapid water level changes due to ice movement.
