Recycling Made Easy with the NRRM's Bottle Donation Program

Want to recycle but don’t have time to sort your bottles and cans? The Bottle Donation Program encourages residents to easily recycle by bringing unsorted cans and bottles to the blue bins located at Wide Sky Disposals and the Northern Rockies Landfill. Local non-profit groups will sort your recyclables for you, to help raise money for activities and events.

November 11. The most unforgettable day of the year. Please join the Fort Nelson Emergency Services for a Community Remembrance Day Ceremony to honour those who served and continue to serve to restore peace and security. 

Ceremony will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023 at 10:45 a.m. in the Recreation Centre Community Hall. Doors open at 10:15 a.m. and additional accessibility and veteran parking will be available in the Recreation Centre main parking area.

The Fort Nelson Community Forest (FNCF) has approximately 750 cubic meters of deciduous fiber that needs to be moved from the Peak Fort Nelson properties yard. FNCF is seeking proposals from interested parties to move and utilize/dispose this fiber.

How the NRRM is Navigating Lifeguard Shortages

Over the last two years Canada is been experiencing a growing concern of lifeguard shortages. In turn, the struggle to keep past operational hours within the NRRM has been shown to be a major struggle.  

The national shortage is thought to be a reflection of the 2020 pandemic.  Lifeguards need to continuously train and practice their skills to recertify, which was not practical when pool closures and layoffs were happening worldwide. When the time came possible to recertify, many were not...
