It is with great sadness that we relay news of the passing of one of our dedicated firefighters, while travelling outside of the community to visit family for Christmas. This member served Fort Nelson and the Northern Rockies with unwavering commitment and bravery, embodying the spirit of service that defines the profession. Our deepest condolences go out to our Fire Rescue Department, the member’s family, loved ones, and friends.

As many of you are aware, there are wildfires active in the surrounding wilderness. While firefighting efforts are underway, we want to stress the importance of prioritizing safety and being prepared. May 10, 2024 - 7:52 p.m. EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED FOR NRRM & FNFN
Pursuant to the Emergency Disaster Management Act, a joint Evacuation Order has been issued by the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality and Fort Nelson First Nations. A wildfire burning approximately 12 kms west of the community is posing immediate threat to life, health and property.
