Environment Canada Heat Warning

Please take precautions this weekend, as Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for most of the province, predicting a dangerous, long heatwave beginning Friday, June 25 and lasting until Tuesday, June 29.












  • Never leave children alone in a parked car. Temperatures can rise to 52 Celsius (125 Fahrenheit) within 20 minutes inside a vehicle when the outside temperature is 34 C (93 F). Leaving the car windows slightly open will not keep the inside of the vehicle at a safe temperature.

We recently announced that the Northern Rockies Regional Airport (NRRA) will be rehabilitating Runway 04-22, the primary runway, thanks to a Federal contribution from the Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP) that will fund 100% of the total project cost of $17.7M. This project will not only lead to greater longevity of the airport infrastructure but also allow for an improved experience for stakeholders when using the facilities we offer.

Why do we conduct sanitary sewer flushing?


This preventative maintenance process is necessary to remove settled and accumulated material and to eliminate the potential for sanitary sewer main surcharging which can result in damage to property.


During this process, the Public Works Crew will be setting up equipment at manholes in the roadway to release pressurized water through the sanitary sewer main pipe, removing any buildup. As a result, a bubbling...
