Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

Community Trail Closure: Feb 17-26

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality would like to inform residents that wildfire fuel management treatment works are occurring along specific areas of the Community Trail.

The community trail will be closed effective February 17th to February 26th, or until work is complete between the Airport Drive South crossing and the north-most trail entrance on Tamarack Crescent to allow for fuel management treatment works in the vicinity.

Please respect work sites and obey all posted signs for your safety and the safety of those working in the area.

Wildfire Fuel Management Treatments assist in maintaining a forested ecosystem with good visuals and aesthetics; reducing the wildfire threat to the local community by removing dead trees, spacing trees and pruning limbs that are close to the ground; and, creating safer wildfire suppression opportunities. Fuel Management techniques include: danger tree removal, pruning, thinning, debris piling and pile burning.
