Reminder: Property Tax Due Date July 2

Paying your property taxes

The due date for residential property taxes is Thursday, July 2, 2020—please contact us if you haven’t received your tax notice yet.

The municipal office reopened on Monday, June 1, 2020 with regular hours from 8:30am to 4:30pm. The first hour of each day (8:30am-9:30am) is limited to patrons that are over 55 or immunocompromised. In order to accommodate physical distancing guidelines, staff are able to accept home owner grants and other tax-related correspondence via several methods:

In Person at the municipal office

We accept debit/Interac or cheques, please bring your tax notice and payment to:

By Mail

 Mail your payment along with the bottom portion of your tax notice including your completed home owner grant form, if applicable, to:

Northern Rockies Regional Municipality, 5319—50 Ave S, Bag Service 399, Fort Nelson, BC   V0C 1R0

 

Payments must be received at the municipal office on or before the due date printed on the front of the notice. POSTMARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AS PROOF OF PAYMENT. Please see the back of your tax notice for additional details.

Online Banking

1. Log into online banking with your financial institution. If you do not have online banking, contact your bank to set it up.

2. Add the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality as a payee.

3. Once you have located the payee, add the ROLL NO. located at the top of your tax notice in the account number field, leaving out the decimal.

Drop Box

 Place your completed home owner grant form and/or your payment (no cash please) along in the drop box located by the main office door

Fax

 Fax your completed home owner grant form to 250.774.2507

Email

Email your completed home owner grant applications to Finance@NorthernRockies.ca (legible photos may be accepted).

Claim your home owner grant

The home owner grant is designed to help homeowners with their property taxes. To determine eligibility, please refer to the home owner grant information on the back of your property tax notice or on the province of BC home owner grant webpage.

Please ensure that you claim your home owner grant on or before July 2. If you qualify for the home owner grant, you must apply each year to receive it. Even if your mortgage company pays your property taxes, you still need to claim your grant. It is recommended that you claim your grant even if you are unable to pay the property taxes.
