Survey Results Available: Major Home-Based Businesses, Vehicle Storage & Parking

SUMMARY: Major Home-Based Businesses, Vehicle Storage & Parking Survey Results

Recently a survey was undertaken to collect feedback from rural property owners about home-based businesses, parking and vehicle storage in rural residential areas. Now that the survey has concluded, the findings will help shape the options developed to resolve the clarity and consistency of language and regulation within NRRM Zoning Bylaw No. 119, 2016 related to Home-Based Businesses, Vehicle Storage and Parking.

We would like to thank all of the residents who participated in the survey, did interviews or provided written submissions, your assistance is invaluable.

In August, 446 notices with survey links were mailed to all RR-1 Rural Residential, Large Lot and A-1 Agricultural zoned property residents.  Survey responses received totaled 95.

The results have been compiled with an accompanying report and recommendations for the Monday, October 28, 2019 Regional Council meeting agenda. At that time, it is anticipated that Council will provide direction, regarding amendments to align the Zoning Bylaw with survey outcomes.
