CBC Interview: Alaska Highway Emergency Services

Zanie Mollica was visiting Liard Hot springs from Kelowna. She is in the northeast often to visit her son who lives in nearby Fort Nelson, they had stopped at a cafĂ© on the way when she experienced a medical emergency.

This experience is all too frequent among travellers on the Alaska Highway, where sporadic cellular service and lack of 9-1-1 mean visitors take their chances in an emergency situation, despite years of lobbying by the NRRM.
