Call for Election Officials

Do you enjoy learning new skills, being involved in your community, working with the public and making a few extra dollars?  Applications are now being accepted for Election Officials to assist with the upcoming 2018 General Local Election being held on October 20, 2018. 

Election Officials work at the polling places on election days and are a critical part of making the election process accurate and fair. There are only a few qualifications and experience is not necessary:

  • You must be 18 years of age or over
  • You cannot be a candidate, or a family member or close associate of a candidate
  • You must attend a scheduled (and paid) training class prior to the election
  • If selected, you will be required to make a solemn declaration that you will faithfully and impartially fulfil your duties.

Election Officials are needed for:

  • the polling stations at the Municipal Office on general voting day on October 20, 2018
  • the advance voting stations on October 10th and 17th 2018 at the Municipal Office, and
  • a special polling station at the Toad River Community Hall on October 12th, 2018.

Selection is at the discretion of the Chief Election Officer and will be dependent upon the applications received.
