Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

News Release: Airport Live Exercise

FORT NELSON, BC – As part of our ongoing commitment to public safety and to meet regulatory requirements set out by Transport Canada, the Northern Rockies Regional Airport will be conducting a live emergency exercise on September 29, 2016. Participating agencies will include Fort Nelson Fire Rescue, NRRA Airport Operations, RCMP, NavCanada, Northern Rockies Emergency Operations and the NRRM Public Works Department.

Live simulated exercises are an important aspect of the airport safety management system and are conducted on a regular basis to confirm both airport and emergency response processes.

Travellers near the airport and the terminal building will notice signage and emergency response vehicles throughout the exercise; however, please be assured there will be no impact to regular airport operations including the main runway.
