Optometry Outreach Clinic a Success!

During the week of May 16th, Fort Nelson residents had the opportunity to receive eye exams and shop for new eyeglasses thanks to the collaboration of the New Westminster Optometry Clinic, Fort Nelson First Nation, and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.  As part of their Community Outreach Program, New Westminster Optometry routinely visits First Nations communities across the province to offer hard-to-access vision care services. Fort Nelson First Nation was among those communities this week and through the communications of the Joint Working Group on Health Care, the opportunity arose to host a second clinic during New Westminster Optometry's time in Fort Nelson.

Over 42 patients were served in Fort Nelson, in addition to over 100 community members from Fort Nelson First Nation.  We look forward to future opportunities to host this Outreach Clinic for the collective benefit and health of our community.

If you or your family is interested in booking an appointment for a returning clinic in the Fall of 2016, please fill out the form located here (submissions are confidential), and you will be contacted for scheduling.
