Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

Province Lifting Campfire Ban

Thanks to significant precipitation over the past couple of days, the Province will be lifting its campfire ban across the Prince George Fire Centre, including the Northern Rockies, starting noon July 22.

The following activities will now be allowed:

  • campfires (no larger than 0.5 metres high by 0.5 metres wide)
  • outdoor stoves and other portable campfire apparatuses

However, Category 2 open burning, Category 3 open burning, fireworks and firecrackers will
remain prohibited throughout the Prince George Fire Centre to help prevent human-caused
wildfires and protect public safety.
