Snow Clearing Update

Please know that NRRM snow crews continue to work extended hours to clean up the heavy snowfall from December.  These activities include removal of snow pack and hauling snow away from boulevards and intersections to improve visibility and road safety.  NRRM snow crews have been working hard to clean up the messy conditions around town (particularly at intersections) that have resulted from the recent warm weather and softened snow pack.

We have four full-time equipment operators and two labourers helping to plow, grade, haul and clean up snow around town.  Regular shifts are Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm and this winter, we have added a Tuesday to Saturday shift from 6:00am – 2:00pm.  These earlier hours and the Saturday, help to clear up busier streets where traffic congestion makes snow clearing impractical during business hours.

Our streets are addressed in order of priority as it is important that we keep routes with schools, hospitals and heavier traffic areas (such as Airport Drive and 50th North) open and clear.  During times of heavy snowfall, snow clearing hours are extended to provide additional attention to our streets and roads. We thank you for your continued cooperation and support during these excessive conditions. We also thank you for your patience.
