United Way - Day of Caring

“A United Way Day of Caring” is an opportunity for businesses and local community groups to partner with United Way to work together to make meaningful improvements for an organization in your community. Days of Caring support organizations to receive provided volunteer goods and labour, generally provided by employees, business, businesses and corporations, to programs and agencies in the community.

United Way plays the role of ‘broker' in the identification, coordination and leadership support for the projects and volunteer groups to meet the need.  Some examples of volunteer work include:
  • Painting,
  • Yard clearing,
  • Planting trees,
  • Cutting grass,
  • Sorting,
  • Fixing fences,
  • Cleaning,
  • You name it.

Do you have a work project and need volunteers to get the job done? Get in touch with Niki Hedges (United Way Northern BC) and she will try and match your needs with an appropriately sized group of volunteers. These volunteers will turn up on the day with tools and equipment if you require them and they will jump in and do the job. No matter how big or small!
