Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

Spring Fling

Regional Council would like to remind residents of this year's annual “Spring Fling” event. Spring Fling is a Municipality sponsored program where residents can dispose of their garbage free of charge for one week. From March 14-23 residents will not be charged dumping fees at the landfill. Please note that the Spring Fling services are for residential refuse only. Commercial/Industrial disposal will be subject to regular landfill tipping rates.

It is recognized that not everyone has the ability to dispose of larger items themselves, so in addition to free landfill for residents, the Municipality will be offering curb-side pick-up. Should you need to dispose of appliances, furniture, or even a demolished shed; those items can be placed at the end of your driveway for the Public Works Crew to pick-up between May 16th and 20th.  Due to demand, curb-side pickup cannot be pre-scheduled.

Spring Fling is also a way for Non-Profit organizations to fundraise. Organizations such as schools, youth groups or charities can earn $2 for each bag of garbage that they fill. Bags and gloves will be offered to the public if they wish to pick-up garbage around the community.
