Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

Arbour Day in Fort Nelson

Press Release

June 13, 2011

The Northern Environmental Action Team (NEAT), Encana, Leaf Land Services and the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality are presenting Arbour Day on July 9th in Fort Nelson. Over two hundred trees will be planted within the town. (Locations are yet to be determined.) One hundred will be in public areas and the other hundred will be available to residents to plant in their yards. If residents help plant the public trees that day, they will be provided with a complimentary tree; if they would rather not volunteer, they may purchase a tree for $50 (cash only). Each tree will come with a package of bone meal and planting instructions.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the community planting, or would just like to purchase a subsidized tree, please contact info@neat.ca or call 1-888-689-6328 to register.

Special thanks to the Conrad/Gustafson family for all their help organizing this event.
