  • Surprise Hercules Landing at NR Regional Airport

    The Northern Rockies Regional Airport has a surprise visitor! A CC-130 Hercules transport from CFB Winnipeg was conducting military exercises in Yellowknife and stopped in Fort Nelson after deploying a few parachute jumpers.

  • March 4 Rec Centre Ammonia Evacuation 'Man-Down' Drill Scheduled

    February 26, 2019

    The Rec Center will be running a Mock Man Down Ammonia Evacuation Drill in conjunction with the Northern Rockies Fire/Rescue and BC Ambulance on Monday March 4th starting at 11 am.

    The initial drill will interrupt services for approximately 1 hour from 11am-12pm. After that time the Fire Dept and BC Ambulance will continue to run their exercise with minimal interruption to the rest of the Recreation Center and services will return to normal.
