Instances of COVID-19 have been reported in the Northern Health operating area.

    • Frequent cleaning and disinfection of work surfaces
    • Increased overall sanitation
    • Restricted access to worksites
    • Increased communication regarding personal hygiene and social distancing

Open to the Public effective Monday, June 1, 2020. The office will be open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm with physical distancing measures in place.

Northern Rockies Regional Airport

Central Mountain Air (CMA): Effective April 11 through July 6, scheduled flights will be suspended while charters remain available, click here to learn more.

Scheduled service resumes on July 7, 2020.

The Northern Rockies Regional Airport will ONLY be open to passengers that have flights arriving or departing that day and will be closed to all other general public until further notice. Notice

All local playgrounds and pocket parks are officially reopened June 4, 2020.


Both Andy Bailey and Tetsa River Regional Parks are open for camping and day-use, by reservation and drop-in camping, and are limited to BC residents.


BC Parks: For this camping season, "Discover Camping" will be operating with a 2-month rolling booking window with visitors able to book reservations for arrival dates up to July 25. In support of staying local and avoiding unnecessary travel, BC residents will be given preferential access for the 2020 camping season. Please note that closing dates for each park is different.

Parks Affected:


Liard Hot Springs Provincial Park: The campground will be opening on June 1st BUT THE HOT POOLS AND DAY USE WILL REMAIN CLOSED ALL SUMMER AND INTO THE FALL.


Parks Canada: Starting June 1, visitors will be permitted to access some trails, day use areas, and green spaces at some locations. Until then, all suspensions of visitor services and closures of facilities announced in March remain in place, including camping facilities until at least June 21, 2020.


Recreation Sites and Trails BC: Camping will be permitted at some sites beginning June 1. For a complete list of sites closed to camping, visit BC Current Recreation Site Closures

Playgrounds & Pocket Parks Phased Reopening to the Public

All local playgrounds and pocket parks are officially reopened June 4, 2020.  Users are reminded to practice physical distancing of 6 feet or 2 meters between others, wash or sanitize hands before and after touching surfaces, and stay home if you are sick.
