HALLOWEEN Frequently Asked Questions

Can the kids still go trick or treating?

Yes! Trick-or-Treat in small social groups and leave space between yours and other groups. Wash your hands before you go out, when you get home and before eating any treats. Respect homes by staying away if the lights are out as they may wish to self-isolate.

Can I still hand out candy?

Yes! Get creative – use tongs, a baking sheet or make a candy slide to give more space when handing out candy. Plan to hand out individual pre-packaged treats instead of using a shared bowl. Wear a mask or face covering and be more outside than inside your door. Disinfect doorbells and other surfaces throughout the evening.

Can we still dress up?

Yes! Try to include facemasks or face coverings and gloves as part of your costume!

What about Halloween parties?

Skip the parties this year. Indoor gatherings put people at higher risk of getting COVID-19. Celebrate with small gatherings of your household or social group of six. You should know everyone who attends. Avoid using props that cause coughing, like smoke machines and be careful with hand sanitizer and open flames as it can be flammable.

Will there be fireworks this year?

Yes! Northern Rockies Fire Rescue will start the fireworks show at 8:30 pm from Art Fraser Park. Keep your distance from other groups of people watching or try to stay in your vehicle.

Do we need to register for the Spooky Swims and the Carnival? How can I register?

Yes! Spaces are limited for each Swim and Carnival time so please pre register to avoid being disappointed. You can book online through PerfectMind at or you can call the Customer Service Desk at 250.774.2541 ext 1

How many people are allowed for the Spooky Swims and the Carnival?

There are 36 spots available per swim and there are 50 spots available for each carnival time. This includes both children and adults.

Will there be a Haunted House this year? How can I view it?

Yes! This year the Haunted House will be virtual! Thanks to the Phoenix Theatre and the FNSS 2021 Grads, there will be a showing of the Haunted House at the theatre and it will be posted online on October 31.

Do I need to accompany my child to the Swim and Carnival?

If your child is under 7 years old, they need to be accompanied by an adult for both the Spooky Swim and the Carnival. If your child is 7 and up, they can attend the Spooky Swim & Movie and the Carnival unaccompanied.
