Trail Mix 2018 - Half Marathon & Fun Run

Saturday, September 22

 

Join the Recreation Department in the seventh annual Half Marathon & Fun Run!  Enjoy a run/walk on the community trail with the whole family - including the dog!  There will be events for all ages, free
concession items and great “giveaways”.  Registration closes on September 21st at noon. Register early to receive some cool race swag and to be eligible for medals!

  

Location: Community Trail Start (across from Dan’s pub)
Cost: $15/person (if registered by Sept 15)

         $20/person (registered after Sept 15)

         Children 15 & under and dogs are free

Autumn Equinox Flow Yoga

Come celebrate the Autumn Equinox with a Vinyasa Flow yoga class with live acoustic music played by Chloe Forsyth.

Spookerama

5:30 - 8:30pm

Bring the whole family to the Spookerama Festival this year! There is something for everyone! Your free
admission includes:

  • Access to the Haunted House (children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult as it is horrifying!)
  • Crafts
  • A fortune telling booth
  • Carnival games with great prizes
  • Face painting
  • A free concession with hot dogs, popcorn, chips and beverages

Afterwards, head outside to enjoy the fireworks and hot chocolate!

National Child Day

November 20 has been proclaimed National Child Day in the NRRM! Join us for the following FREE
activities!

  • Pool - Free Swimming All Day
  • Play Space - 9:00am to 9:00pm
  • Puck & Stick - 6:30am to 8:00am
  • Family Skate - 9:00am to 11:15am
  • Public Skate - 11:30am to 1:00pm & 6:00 to 8:15pm

Christmas Craft Fair

This is your one-stop-shop for all things Christmas!  There will be hand-made goods, baked treats,
decorations and many more gift ideas!

Christmas Parade of Lights & Christmas Tree Light Up

Sunday, December 2

5:30-8:00pm

Santa has scheduled us as his first visit of the year in Fort Nelson!  Join the Family Development Society for the annual Christmas Parade of Lights, followed by the Christmas Tree Light Up at the Recreation Centre. Enjoy hot dogs & hot chocolate and get your picture taken in time to get those Christmas Cards done!

 Location:  Parade begins at Dan’s Pub, ends at NRRRC

                Light Up at NRRRC - Main Lobby

Skate With Santa

Santa is going to make another appearance on the ice before he heads up to the North Pole to get ready for Christmas!  Bring the whole family to this all-ages skate!

Letters to Santa

November 18-December 9

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is so excited to announce that Santa has once again names the Rec Centre as a mailbox location! Starting November 18, children and adults can drop off their letters to Santa Clasu in the special mailbox located in the main lobby. Santa will be picking them up on December 9 and will mail everyone a personal letter in return just in time for Christmas! Please be sure to include your correct mailing address so you don't miss out.

Holiday Indoor Movie - Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas

Tuesday, December 18

7:00pm

Bring your blankets and join the Phoenix Theatre & the NRRM for a FREE screening of  Disney’s “Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmas”!  Mickey and his friends tell three stories including “Donald Duck Stuck On       Christmas”, "A Very Goofy Christmas" and "Mickey and Minnie's Gift of the Magi."

Cash concession items will be available.
