Northern Rockies Regional Municipality

Hello.  I'm Bill Dolan and I'm asking for your support in the upcoming School Board election.  My educational career has been varied, from substitute Teacher-on-Call to District Principal.  In 2014, I retired from School District 81 after 33 years and since then have continued to serve our community as an elected school trustee, a role that I take seriously.

I would like to share with you some background regarding my community roots, commitment to education, and what I can offer as a School Trustee.  My parents, Frank and Kay, owned and operated the "Lum n' Abner's" highway stopping place at Prophet River in the 1950s.  Our family moved to town in 1959 so that we kids could start school here.

My experiences in high school instilled in me the desire to be a teacher.  There has always been a high regard for education in our family.  My grandmother was a teacher in a one-room Saskatchewan prairie schoolhouse.  My sister Shannon was a teacher and my mother served on the Board of Northern Lights College.  Cathy, my wife, has been an Educational Assistant and Personal Attendant as well as a PAC member in our children's schools -- so involvement in education runs in the family!
