National Addiction Awareness Week Proclaimed

WHEREAS addictions are an overwhelming social problem in Fort Nelson and the province of British Columbia; and
WHEREAS the purpose of national Addiction Awareness Week is to raise awareness in the community and by doing so, perhaps we will be able to reduce the stigma that exists for those individuals who are marginalized by addictions and increase the support for those affected, so that they are able to seek treatment and resources which will allow them to live a life free from their addiction.
THEREFORE I, Mayor Bill Streeper, hereby proclaim November 14-20, 2010 National Addiction Awareness Week in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality. Go to Top
