Apache Canada Announces a Five-Year Partnership with Parks Play Fort Nelson

Apache Canada is proud to announce a five year partnership with Parks Play in Fort Nelson, BC.

Parks Play is a free program offered by the Northern Rockies Recreation Department and it is a great way to provide fun, safe activities and snacks to children of all ages, with their parents, at a different park each week from June to August.

The Parks Play Program is a great opportunity for parents to not only be active with their children, but connect families with other families.  The objective of the program is to build community capacity with respect to children and families, and provide free program opportunities to everyone.  This is the third year that the Recreation Dept has offered this program; 20 to 50 children and their parents attend the program each day.

Adventure, excitement, games, crafts, stories await both parents and children in addition to many special events.  Parks Play targets nine different parks in Fort Nelson, giving all families an opportunity to participate in the events.

"The Parks Play Program has become an important part of the programs and services offered by the Northern Rockies Regional Municipal Recreation Department during the summer months," says Colleen Hoglund, Program Manager.  "The community's response to the program has been great.  There are many families who regularly attend, and look forward to it each week."

Apache Canada will be sponsoring the entire cost of the program until 2014, ensuring the program will stay free fro families in the community.  The five year partnership will support and cover equipment and organizational costs for the program.
