Sneak It In

The Northern Rockies Regional Municipality is challenging you to wear your sneakers to work!  It’s easy to participate. Wear sneakers to work. Walk to lunch. Park a few blocks away. Hit the pavement on your coffee break. As long as your heart beats faster for 10 minutes, it really counts! You’ll see how easy it can be to fit in more activity during your workday. So get active and sneak it in. You’ll be rewarded with a longer, happier, more fulfilling life!  That’s not all - if you email us a picture of your office staying active in your workday you will be entered to win a “keep fit” gift bag with tons of great loot to keep you active!

Summit Run-It!

Join us in our third annual event!  We know that many community members are interested in exploring the vast wilderness that the Northern Rockies has to offer, so we have designed a run/walk of the Summit Tower Road.  Parking will be by the old buildings, close to the highway, but please car pool as there will be minimal parking available at Summit Lake campground.  Runners will meet at the Summit Tower Road access point. The route will start at the old road access to Flowering Springs, but runners will stay on the road rather than turning off. The route is approximately 12km return (to the tower and back) all on a gravel road surface.  It will be uphill on the way out (6km) and downhill on the way back (6km).  All participants will turn around and head back (if they haven’t made it to the tower) after 2 hours (hikers are welcome).  Participants should prepare for any and all weather conditions and should bring everything they would normally need for a run/hike of that distance (water, food, appropriate foot wear).  We will ensure all safety aspects are taken care of for this event. Dogs are welcome!
Now open for registration, closes Friday June 9th. Click Here!
