The Fort Nelson News produces a local paper every Wednesday and serves Fort Nelson, the Alaska Highway, the Northern Rockies, Watson Lake, the Horn River Basin, Fort Liard, and the South Mackenzie in the Northwest Territories. It is the newspaper of record for the top third of BC and is unopposed in its market.  It has a press run of 2,800, paid circulation is 2,600 and is distributed in Watson Lake, Fort Nelson, at lodges along the Alaska Highway, the Horn River Basin, Liard and Cordova  camps, Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Fort Liard.
Recently, it has entered into book publishing with a history of Fort Nelson and the North West trading company from 1805 to 1905 authored by Anthony Kenyon and edited by K. Jane Watt.

The Northeast News is a weekly paper distributed every Thursday through Canada Post. It is delivered to over 19,000 homes and businesses from Tumbler Ridge past Fort Nelson and Chetwynd to the Alberta border. With coverage on local news, sports, municipal and provincial politics, as well as the happenings in the resource industry and the arts and culture scene throughout northeast B.C., the paper is available online and readers can now keep up to date with the Northeast News on Facebook and Twitter.

The Alaska Highway News is an energetic daily newspaper covering news, sports and local events. On February 3, 2014 the Alaska Highway News expanded to include Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson and all surrounding areas in order to provide more relevant, compelling and unique local content to our audiences throughout the North. The Alaska Highway News also proudly publishes the Dawson Creek Mirror, The Fort St. John Northerner, The Northern Horizon and the Pipeline News North as well as several feature publications including the Seniors' Insight, The Angler's Atlas fishing magazine for the Peace Region, the Pipeline News North's Oilfield Map, and the Today's Drive – new vehicle preview magazine.
